Scotland leads the way on harnessing renewable energy sources. However, the set target of 80% of electricity from renewables by 2020 cannot be met without further development. Ways to ensure the landscape can accommodate this are sensitively extending existing projects and creating wind clusters.
The wind cluster near Garve in Ross-shire is moving forward. Infinergy's consented 17-turbine Lochluichart Wind Farm has been acquired by utility company Eneco, who will construct and operate it. The Highland Council granted planning consent for E.ON's neighbouring Corriemoillie Wind Farm on 22nd March. Infinergy is now investigating land to the north of the consented Lochluichart Wind Farm for an extension of up to 6 wind turbines.
We have now finalised plans and submitted the planning application to the Scottish Government. The full application, including all visual figures is available in the 'Downloads' section of this site.
